Have you been a previous singer of “Queen of the South” at the Crowning ceremony on Guid Nychburris Day? If so, you are invited to join a newly formed choir which will perform the town song at the Midsteeple following the Crowning on Saturday 18th June.
This is a special performance which will bring a new dimension to the Crowning during this, the 90th Anniversary of the festival and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.
Emma Irving, the Musical Director of the choir, says “The song words were written by George W. Shirley who dreamt up the whole idea of the Guid Nychburris Festival all those years ago. I have rearranged the original music to allow for part singing to bring a unique and exciting rendition to this year’s event. If you would like to perform with the choir there is still time to join us so please contact Joyce Reekie by email: [email protected] or 07745 421002 to learn more”.
