IGNITE THE SKY
Formed early 2012, Ignite the Sky are a modern metal band hailing from Stranraer, Scotland. Consisting of Thomas Robertson on Vocals, Carrick Laburn on Drums, Ally Bullivant on Bass, Chris Lever on Lead & Rhythm Guitar and Dean Forsyth on Lead & Rhythm Guitar.
Balancing the rage and power of some of their heavier influences, the emotional injection of modern metacore, coupled with the more melodic components of contemporary hard rock, the band achieves a unique, accessible sound. Make sure you catch these guys while you can.
LINDA-LOUISE GREENHILL & ELLIE CHILTON
Ellie Chilton and Linda-Louise Greenhill have been pursuing their dream of music since their early teens and continue to do so. Through the past few years they have participated in many local events whether it is school talent shows or Charity events or even getting an amazing award of 3rd place at a regional song writing event. They play mostly punk pop songs and covers however have been known to break out a few pop favourites every now and again just to surprise people. They have an active YouTube page where they post their covers under the name of DrowningInSound on this page they continue to get support and views from people all over. Overall they produce music with a fun quality which is easy and highly enjoyable for all. You will definitely want to see these two girls performing this year.
RED RETRO PILOT
Consisting of Lewis Maxwell, Fraser McMillan, Craig Coutts and Ewan Cooper
Red Retro Pilot formed in late 2012, originally under the name “Otoban”, when all four members met in their first year of University. Since then they have played in venues all across the UK. February 2014 saw the band release their debut single, “Tattoo”, which came off their upcoming EP, “Transmission 101” – due to be released in the summer of 2014. You definitely won’t want to miss these guys.
THE ROCK LOBSTERS
Making their performance debut, The Rock Lobsters are a very newly formed local band. Consisting of Kyle Anderson on vocals and Guitar, Lewis MacLeod on Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals, Ronan McMurtrie on Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals, Town Legend Drummer Alex Black and Euan Caldwell on Bass.
With their inspirations and tastes varying a great deal, from Eddie Van Halen, Freddie Mercury to Slipknot and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
They are determined to have a great time and make sure you do too with songs for everyone to enjoy. Sure to be one to make a note of. You are bound to enjoy these guys doing what they do best.
STICKS AND STONES
Aiden Halliday on Vocals, Acoustic Guitar & Kick-drum, Angus Bruce on Keyboards and Peter Wall on Lead Guitar. Sticks And Stones are a trio of teenagers from Dumfries in South West Scotland, who describe their music as ‘delicate but dirty folk’. Their debut album, to be release by Distilled Records this year, was recorded by Sticks And Stones in just three days at Unit 7 Studio, Galloway. Musically, Sticks And Stones are driven by Aiden Halliday’s acoustic guitar, with two quality henchmen in Angus and Peter, combining to produce this high energy, engrossing, original sound. Sticks And Stones in the last twelve months have gone from strength to strength as a live act, thrilling audiences at festivals & gigs. They have secured special guests slots with the likes of Fatherson, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Finding Albert, Mano McLaughlin and more. These guys are set to blow you away this year. Make sure you don’t miss them.
THE LATE TWOS A Northern Irish Indie Rock/Pop band, formed in 2011in Belfast. A lively and energetic five piece outfit, well known across Northern Ireland for their unique and fresh sound, style and charisma. Their debut E.P, “The Late Twos”, delivered a new, fresh and upbeat sound across the country to much acclaim and was positively received by critics, receiving airplay on BBC Ulster, BBC Radio, BBC Radio 6 and RTE 2XM and much more smaller stations.
