Bay City Rollers Complete Line-Up For Big Burns Supper 2016 Festival
Dig out the tartan trousers and get ready for Rollermania

The Bay City Rollers will complete the line-up of famous name acts for Scotland’s nine-day Big Burns Supper festival in January.

The 70s boy band pop sensation, famed for their tartan trousers and hits like Bye Bye Baby, Shang-A-Lang and I Only Wanna Be With You, will be on stage in the festival’s fabulous mirror-line Spiegeltent on Saturday, 23 January.

Graham Main, Big Burns Supper Artistic Director, said: “It’s time to squeeze back into the tartan trousers and sing along with some of the catchiest songs of the seventies.

“We’re absolutely ecstatic to be welcoming the Les McKeown and the Bay City Rollers to Dumfries. It’s our festival’s fifth birthday and we thought it would be great celebrate with a bit of Rollermania.

“For those who remember them the first time round, it will bring back so many fantastic memories. And for those who weren’t there at the time it’s a chance to have some real fun getting a taste of what made Scotland bop in the Seventies.”
Big Burns Supper 2016 has received support as part of the Scotland’s Winter Festivals events programme.

The nine-day festival in Dumfries, from 22-30 January, will also feature Black Grape, Jason Byrne, The Beat and Eddi Reader. It will have the Mongolian musicians of Anda Union, Irish vocalist Camille O’Sullivan, the Scots trad Treacherous Orchestra, comedian Andrew Maxwell and Irish folk act the Dublin Legends.

On the Bard’s birthday itself there will be the festival’s own fifth birthday party, featuring special guest performers, and a family Burns Supper for around 300 inside the mirror-lined Spiegeltent which is the event’s main venue.

Another major highlight of BBS 2016 is Le Haggis III which sees a triumphant return to Dumfries of the saucy and spectacular Caledonian cabaret after its award-winning run at the Edinburgh-Fringe. As ever it will be a feast of Scottish and international circus, aerial dance and music – featuring some of the country’s best young trad and folk musicians.
