Galloway Country Fair may be cancelled for 2020 but organisers are encouraging visitors to head online to celebrate what would have been Galloway Country Fairs tenth year at Drumlanrig Castle.
The event is well-known for showcasing the best of country pursuits, local craftsmanship, artisan food and drink as well as show-stopping entertainment. And this year’s virtual celebration, taking place 17th to 23rd August, will see highlights of the last 9 years’ on the Galloway Country Fair Facebook, Instagram and twitter pages.
Organisers are also keen for visitors to share their memories. Anna Fergusson, Drumlanrig Castle and Estate Manager and Fair Organiser, said
“Our visitors are what makes the fair, from the prize winning Clay pigeon shooters and fishermen to families having a day out with their four-legged friends, the fair would not be the same without them and we would love to see and hear their memories of the fair.”
Visitors are also being asked to input on future Galloway Country Fairs by filling in a short survey. It is hoped the feedback will help make 2021 the best fair yet.
“Cancelling the fair was a difficult decision as we were aware of the economic impact on traders, crafts people and the local area, however we hope to be back in 2021 and better than ever. Get 21st and 22nd August in your calendar now!”
