The Medieval Bruce Heritage Trust are hosting a FREE event at Ewart Library Dumfries on Saturday 6th April at 2pm – Designs and Declarations: The Art of Illustrating Scotland’s History – a talk with writer and artists – Andrew Redmond Barr.
This is the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath and this talk explores the famous letter which declared Robert the Bruce King of Scotland.
The event will look more broadly at how artistic and creative approaches, such as illustration and map-making, can help us better understand Scotland’s stories.
There are some great associated resources for schools & youth groups designed by Andrew and produced through National Library of Scotland, let us know if you’d like linked into these.
The event is Free but ticketed – Get your tickets now>>> https://bit.ly/4cAe0da
This event is part of the celebrations for the 750th Anniversary of the birth of Robert the Bruce and a big thanks to our partners on the event – The People’s Project Dumfries and The Imaginarium’s Gallovidian Way.
