Girvan Celebrates Year Of Stories With Illuminated Trail This Hogmanay

After the huge success of last year’s Strandline Coasts and Waters Trail, the CRAG Community Arts team have been working behind the scenes preparing to bring the tales o’ the toon to life through music, light and lanterns.

The inspiration behind this year’s Strandline Illuminated Trail is “Toon Tales”, celebrating the year of stories by exploring the stories of Girvan and its folk with 20 impressive installations using light and sound to tell our tales. Join us for a jaunt this Hogmanay between 5pm and 10pm and see the stories unfold and as you go… from the town’s past as a fishing and weaving town to our wondrous wildlife and an unexpected space connection, what will you discover as you walk the strandline this Hogmanay?

Lasting between 30 to 40 minutes, you can explore each of our “tales” at your own pace and learn more by using the QR codes on each installation. Our Strandline Singers and Davy Hunter will welcome you with traditional weaving songs at The Wee School Art Space as you begin your journey on this family friendly event.

Why not join us by booking a free ticket on Eventbrite to book a time slot to collect your map and join us as we begin the next chapter
