New Halloween Event Comes to Drumlanrig Castle

Halloween frenzy is taking over Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, near Thornhill, this October. In the lead up to Halloween, the estate, based in Dumfries and Galloway, have launched a brand new pumpkin patch at the Gardens and Adventure Playground, running from 14th to 29th October, excluding Mondays and Tuesdays.

Families are invited to book a spooky session which includes a themed trail through the Gardens, a specially created pumpkin patch with child-size wheelbarrows, Halloween crafts and activities, plus a great value lunch box. Entry to the Adventure Playground and wider gardens is also included.

Anna Fergusson, estate director says “We are excited to launch this new family-friendly Halloween event. There is nothing better than enjoying the beautiful Autumnal colours around Drumlanrig in October and we hope the pumpkin patch will be a new regular event for families as they explore the spooky season!”

Fancy dress is very much encouraged and participants who share their pictures online with the #DrumlanrigPumpkins will be in the running to win a 2024 Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate Season Pass, worth £50.

The Larchwood Cabin Café will be open throughout the event serving a specially created Halloween menu with hot and cold drinks, light lunches, and delicious home baking.

Tickets are available to pre-book only from drumanrigcastle.co.uk/event/pumpkin-patch/. Tickets cost £15 for children (£5 for under 5’s) and include the trail, use of a wheelbarrow, a pumpkin, craft activities, lunch box and access to the adventure playground and wider gardens.
