Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities are preparing to host a weekend of fantastic family entertainment at The Carse, Tongland; just outside Kirkcudbright on 20th & 21st July.

Visitors will be treated to a packed schedule of performances in the main arena throughout the weekend from headline acts including the adrenalin filled Flyin Ryan, a motorcycle stunt show with a range of spectacular stunts and skills. Ben Long Falconry will also be there and this fantastic falconry display certainly is sure to be a crowd pleaser! Ben Long offers an entertaining and informative show which the whole family will enjoy.

The Sheep Show is back in Dumfries and Galloway with their fun-filled show. Meet the sheep; each with a story to tell and interesting facts relating to their variety. Nobby the Norfolk Horn is the star of the show… and he knows it! Following the Wooly antics of their introduction, they give a live shearing display accompanied by an informative narrative where you will learn the reasons we shear the sheep. And if that’s not enough, they round it off with their star-studded flock treating you to “The Sheep Show Shuffle”.

The event has a huge selection of free children’s entertainment and amusements, in addition to all the entertainment on the main arena. There will be lots of rides and amusements including a giant inflatable slide, merry-go-round and trampolines. There’s an art & crafts tent, kids crafts, face painting and entertainment from Daffy Dill and her giant bubbles and Franc Karpo the amazing Magician.

On Saturday 20 th July there will be a dog show with a range of breed classes and fun classes. You can register from 10.30am on the day and the best in show will be announced in the main stage at 3.30pm.

There will be large marquees with a range of food, drinks and craft stalls – perfect for a look around and for buying something locally produced. There will also be an onsite beer tent for adults.

Having miss out on welcoming thousands of visitors last year due to extreme winds and rain, convenor of the Country Fair, John Blaikie is delighted to be welcoming people back to this popular event; ‘It was such a shame to have to cancel the event last year, so we’re thrilled to be back with a great line up of acts, many of which were booked in to join us last year.

For £7 per ticket, or £25 for a family ticket; we’re delighted to be able to offer children’s rides for free. Play on the bouncy castles, merry go rounds and trampolines all day. There are also clowns, magicians, Bubbles and crafts. Be sure to keep an eye on the Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities Facebook page to find out more and for all the detail and timings. See you there.’
