£20,000 Grant Funding Available For Land Owners To Prevent Fly Tipping

A new grant scheme created as part of the National Litter and Flytipping Strategy to aid private landowners in deterring flytipping on their land is being relaunched.

What is the Private Landowners Grant Fund?

Zero Waste Scotland is administering the funding, to aid private landowners towards interventions that will prevent flytipping on private land.
The fund aims to support innovative projects that will:

  • Prevent flytipping on private land
  • Engage local communities
  • Facilitate the reporting of flytipping and enforcement of existing penalties
  • Have social, environmental, and economic benefits

We will shortly be posting a set of case studies showcasing last year’s projects (below) as well as Keep Britian Tidy’s flytipping grant fund case studies, for ideas and inspiration.

Who can apply for the Private landowners Grant Fund?

The funding is for private landowners to prevent incidents of flytipping on their lands.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Maximum grant of £20,000
  • Project location must be connected to an area of private land in Scotland
  • Proposed locations must have been flytipped within the last 12 months
  • Landowner based in the UK

What funding is available?

The fund will be managed by Zero Waste Scotland. The maximum funding which can be applied for in one application is £20,000.

The applicant will be required to fund any costs that exceed the £20,000 maximum and is responsible for ensuring that they have the available finances to continue ongoing project costs if necessary.

There are two deadlines for applications. Please email one electronic copy of the application form (below) together with all supporting evidence to [email protected] before noon on Thursday 19 September 2024 or by noon on Thursday 24 October 2024.
