These include the Farm Safety Foundation, Farm Safety Partnerships, the Health & Safety Executive, Health & Safety Executive for Northern Ireland and the Health & Safety Authority, Ireland. From falls and transport to child safety – Farm Safety Week UK & Ireland will offer five days of themed practical advice and guidance for farmers and highlight survivor stories from each region.

The week aims to cut the toll of accidents which give agriculture the poorest record of any occupation in the UK & Ireland. The themes for the week are:

Monday Falls

Tuesday Machinery (e.g. PTO shafts)

Wednesday Transport (e.g. ATVs)

Thursday Crush injuries

Friday Child safety

On each day of Farm Safety Week, farmers will be encouraged to take five minutes to assess the safety of some routine tasks so they don’t learn safety by accident. Survivors of real farming accidents from across the regions will be driving home the message by telling their stories. The Farm Safety Week team will support each theme with the latest Health & Safety statistics , DGWGO will bring you more info during the Farm Safety Week
