WEEKLY PRIMESTOCK SALE
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited held their weekly sale of 349 Prime Hoggs and Cast sheep on Tuesday 10th May 2016.
All classes of hoggs sold similar to last week SQQ average being 176.28ppkg.
Top price per head was £103 for heavyweight texels from Mackilston, Dalry. Top per kilo was 196p for Cheviots from Old Cluden, Irongray, followed by 191.7p for a pen of Blackface from Balgerran, Crossmichael.
Lambs to £100 for a Suffolk from Sunnyhill, Hollywood.
80 cast sheep were again easily sold with tups at a premium. Topping at £131 for texels from Auchenhill, Colvend.
