WEEKLY PRIMESTOCK SALE
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited held their weekly sale of 990 Prime lambs and 299 Cast sheep on Tuesday 2nd August 2016.
990 lambs sold to average 183.14ppkg. Lambs would be slightly firmer on the week with well fleshed lambs being the most sought after.
Top price per head today was for a pen of heavy Texels from Messrs Hutton, Bardarroch at £93.50. Top price per kilo was 214.3p for Texels from Messrs McKerlie, Lochdow.
299 Cast Sheep were again a firm trade with a good show of Blackface Ewes selling to £63 x 2 from Boyach and then Wellhill. Ewes topped at £117 for Texels from Denty.
