On Thursday 4th May Karyn McMillan and Bob Stead represented Machars Young Farmers Club in the Dumfries and Galloway Country Cooks competition at Stranraer.
The culinary duo took first place with their roast chicken with sweet potato chips and ratatouille, followed by an apricot upside cake for dessert.
They now go on to compete at the next round for West at Ayr show.
The following night Friday 5th May, Machars YFC entered a girls hockey team and boys football team at Annandales Sports night, held at the Barony college campus.
On Sunday 6th May Machars sporting theme continued at Biggar where the rugby team came second place at the National Rugby 7’s event.
