Stewartry Shows Moves To New Saturday Slot

The organisers of the historical annual Stewartry Agricultural Show have announce that next years show will be moving from it’s regular slot of the first Thursday in August to a brand new day, which will be the last Saturday in July.
Current show President Sam Hutton who farms near Dalbeattie stated on behalf of the show committee “After lengthy consideration by the show committee, we have taken the decision to move the show to the last Saturday in July to ensure the long-term future of the show. We understand this decision will not fit with everyone’s availability or plans. A weekday event so close to other events has for many years presented a challenge to the organising committee, attendees and exhibitors. By spreading the region‘s agricultural shows in a Wednesday / Saturday pattern this will resolve that clash and allow more visitors to attend on a weekend date”

The show will be held on SATURDAY JULY 29TH 2023 at Greenlaw, home of stewartry Rugby Club.

A Statement put out on the shows Facebook page earlier today stated “After a successful meeting of the committee last night & a great amount of thought, it was agreed going forward that the Annual Stewartry Agriculture Show will run on the last Saturday in July!
Our hope is that the change in date will make the show more accessible to all but most importantly allow more people to be able to put forward entries and enjoy what the show has to offer!
