STORE CATTLE AND OTM CATTLE
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Monday 24th May 2021 held their fortnightly sale of OTM and store cattle.
A small show of Cows met another wonderful trade and more could have sold to Vendor’s advantage. Top price was £1301.30 for an Angus from Culnaightrie.
A poorer show of store cattle met an animated demand topping at £1280 for a Simmental bullock from Long Beoch and £1260 for an Angus heifer from Hillside. Top per kg was 270.6p for a Simmental heifer from Killumpha, Port Logan.

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited held their weekly Primestock sale on Tuesday 25th May 2021.
Lambs met a much improved trade to average 315.64 (SQQ 318.44) Top today was £157 for Texels from Messrs Smith, Low Arkland and to 325.9 again for Texels from Messrs Watson, High Borgue.
Ewes were a strong trade topping at £111 for Texels from Carseriggan and tups to £185 from Brockloch.
