WEEKLY PRIMESTOCK SALE
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Tuesday 17th October 2017 had forward 1601 prime and cast sheep.
988 prime lambs sold to average 166.97 (SQQ 171.36) all classes except the best quality export lambs would be less on the week but sharper looking than Mondays trade.
Topping the trade was a pen of Beltex lambs at £97 or 248.7ppk from Messrs Bunting, Bridgestone closely followed at £96 for Texel lambs from Messrs Robertson, Hartburn.
513 cast sheep again struggled selling to £87 for Texels from Low Arkland.

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Monday 16th October held their Annual sale of Blackface Rams and second sale of all other breeds of rams. Topping the Blackface rams was a shearling at £600 from Glen, Gatehouse of Fleet.
Topping the others was Texel shearling from Fineview, Glenluce at £560 followed by one from the same home at £500.

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Saturday 14 October 2017 had forward 712 store lambs.
A nice show of lambs sold dearer than expected to a top pf £63.50 for Texels from Muncraig, Borgue. A large proportion of the sale forward were mules and these topped at £56 from Glenlee Farms.
