A grand show of 412 Store cattle were sold to a large ringside of bidders. Top today was £1320 for a British Blue heifer from Messrs Robb, Trolane, Dalry, Top price per kilo was a prenominal 307.9 for a pen of 10 Charolais cross bullocks from Messrs Davidson, Poldean who also sold the top price pen of heifers at 274.3ppk. Leading the bullocks was a right Limousin cross bullock fetching £1285 from Messrs Wilson, Kirkmabreck, Creetown.
Overall averages were 221.98 for the bullocks, with the heifers levelling at 213.79.
A quality show of 32 OTMs met a fantastic trade and sold to 176ppk and £1224.96 for Limousin cows from Messrs Hansell, Nether Barr, Corsock, whose consignment of 9 cows averaged 153.12ppk.
A small show of hoggs sold every bit as dear topping at £86 for Cheviot Mules from Murrayton Farms, Gatehouse.

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Tuesday 3rd March 2020 had forward 2350 prime and cast sheep.
An outstanding show of 2015 hoggs were forward the largest number seen in March at Wallets for many a year and all vendors were rewarded with a fine trade with the whole sale averaging 237.8 SQQ 238.5.
All classes of hoggs were keenly bid for from start to finish with export weights rising as the day went on. Best meated hoggs were a great trade. Due to the recent poor weather some hoggs were showing signs of this and maybe not as fit as required, these were bid for more steadily but still realised great returns. Top today was £133 for an outstanding beltex hogg from Messrs Campbell, Carsewalloch, Creetown who also topped the ppk at 307.3 for a pen of export weight beltex hoggs.
Again a great show of blackface hoggs were forward selling to average 234.27. Topping at £116 for tup hoggs from Messrs Burns, Craignell, wedders sold to £112.50 for a pen of 27 belters from Glen Farm, Gatehouse with top per kilo being 252.6 for a pen of 36 proper export hoggs from Messrs Ramsay, Knockreoch, Dalry with a pen of 31 from the Glen fetching 250 with all the best meated hoggs fetching over 240.
Another fine show of cast sheep were forward selling to £181 for 4 outstanding beltex ewes from Carsewalloch, blackface ewes broke the £100 barrier for the first time recent years at Castle Douglas selling to £103 from Ardoch, Dalry, mules sold to £116.50 x 2 first from Cotland then from Torrs.
