SALE OF STORE AND OTM CATTLE
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas had a catalogue entry of 1608 Store and 77 OTM cattle.
Store cattle sold above expectations with buyers present from all parts of the country.
Bullocks topped at £1880 for Limousins from Nether Barr and 312.3ppk for Angus this time from Palmallet Farms.
Heifers topped at £1600 for Simmental from Craigton and 313.5ppk again for Limousin from Garmartin.
Cows & OTM met a massive demand to average a marvellous 207.35ppk for 77 sold. 47 cows sold at 2ppk more and 47 cows averaged a whopping 225ppk.
77 OTM cattle topped at £2080.86 for Simmental from Trolane.

Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Ltd on Tuesday 26th April 2022 had forward 710 prime and cast sheep.
510 Prime hoggs sold to average 272.91ppk (282.79SQQ)
Hoggs topped today at £156.50 for Texel from Douganhill. Top pence per kilo went to 334.5 for Beltex from Messrs McKie, Finniness.
A small show of spring lambs where forward with top being £151.50 for Suffolks from Messrs Torbet, Whitecrook and top per kilo to 288.2 for Zwartable from Messrs Smith, Barmurrie.
200 cast sheep topped today at for £215 from Beltex from Messrs Fosyth, Corra and rams to £179 for cheviot from Messrs Watson, Slatehouse.
