Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited on Monday 31st January sold Store lambs and Store and OTM Cattle
Store Cattle met a fantastic trade and more could easily have been sold to Vendors advantage.
Bullocks topped at £1260 for Salers from Messrs Kerr, Fagra and 259.3ppk for Limousin bullocks from Messrs Jamieson, Blacket House. Heifers sold to £1260 for Angus’ from Messrs Dunlop, Cannee and 243.8ppk for Simmentals from Messrs Watson, High Borgue.
OTM Cattle sold to £1519.98 for a British Blue Bull from Messrs Hamilton, Derrie and to 179ppk for a Limousin cow again from Messrs Hamilton, Derrie.
A small show of store lambs topped at £110 for Texels from Messrs Donald, Grennan.

1429 Prime hoggs sold to average 264.41ppk (265.29SQQ)
Hoggs topped today at £146.50 for Texel hoggs from Messrs Heuchan, Townhead of Greenlaw and top price per kilo was 339.3 for Beltex hoggs from Messrs Craig & Co, Compstonend.
515 cast ewes topped today at £160 for Texel ewes from Blair Farm and Rams to £170 for Texels from Denty Texels.
