Well what an action packed Wigtown Show 2018 we have for everyone!!
Out main ring entertainment this year is Atkinson Action Horses who will put on a fantastic display with up to ten horses. Atkinson Action Horses are usually seen on the big screen and television as they appeared in Game of Thrones and Poldark, so don’t miss this opportunity to see them in reality. We also have Zoolab UK attending to provide education to youngsters and adults on all kinds of different creatures you would not normally see at an agricultural show.
The entries are in and we are pleased to say we are up on the year in a lot of sections. As we are celebrating the woman’s suffrage it is an all-female line up of judges who are very capable individuals of placing the high quality of livestock that will be before them. A list of them is below. The honour of judging the Champion of Champions at 1pm goes to Patsy Hunter (McClymont). Patsy was raised at the Cuil Farm, Palnure, renowned for their Blackface sheep and pedigree cattle. Patsy is also a journalist with the Scottish Farmer so has covered many major issues with her articles on farming, Patsy and her husband Ian farm at Dalchirla Farm and are very much at the top of the Blackface breed producing record priced rams. There are not many individuals that will have reported or seen as many champion animals at shows or sales as Patsy and we are sure she will select the Champion of Champions at Wigtown Show 2018 with ease.
