Annandale and Eskdale Primary schools Sprint Relay Finals 2016

Children from primary schools across Annandale and Eskdale gathered at the Everholm Running Track in Annan on Monday 19th May for the Annandale and Eskdale Primary Schools Sprint Relay Finals  organised by Active Schools and Community Sport for Dumfries and Galloway Council

The event again attracted a large entry for this event with forty seven relay teams and 188 children. The event which is for pupils aged Primary 4 – 7 from small schools and Primary 6 – 7 from large schools is part of the Annandale and Eskdale PEPAS calendar of events sponsored by Magnox Limited.

The prizes were presented by Richard Murray from Magnox Limited who said ”there was another great turn out of children and schools at the Everholm Running Track and the standard of the young athletes was excellent. Maybe one of these young children will go on to be one of the next generations of great athletes from this country.”

Chairperson of Annandale and Eskdale Area Committee, Ronnie Ogilvie added, “It’s great to see such large turnout from schools for this sporting event and the encouragement shown to children.
