After bowling out their opponents cheaply at Stirling the previous week, Your Move Dumfries suffered a similar scoreline and outcome at home against Uddingston on Saturday in Western Premiership One.
After being put into bat Dumfries had reached nearly thirty unscathed when two quick wickets set the innings on a slippery slope. Then opening bowler Tom Wilmott, with a spell of pace and inswing, went on to claim seven wickets with four of those wickets lbw. Only Bellwood and Thornely reached double figures as Dumfries limped to fifty seven all out. Uddingston then had little trouble reaching their target with Awais hitting 33 not out for a nine wicket win.
The youthful Dumfries 2nd team continued their learning experiences through a defeat at Uddingston 2nds, Bothwell. Batting first, Bothwell numbers one and three, Martin and Dunne put the fielding side under pressure as they hit 94 and 73 respectively. Despite that the bowlers persisted and went on to have the home side seven wickets down albeit for a big total of 297. The Nexgen Driver Training Dumfries Player of the Match, Munro Cubbon, claimed three wickets with a wicket shared around four other bowlers as the side learnt the need to take any catches offered. In reply the side grafted to reach 105 all out batting thirty-five overs. Wahid Jabarkhil was the top scorer with a run-a-ball 30 and Callum Reynolds-Lewis was next with a patient 20.
