Marc’s outing comes on the back of a hugely successful career in RX150 that has seen the Lochmaben driver dominate for the past two seasons and secure back-to-back titles. No stranger to Supercars either, Marc made his class debut in the final round of the British Rallycross Championship and British Grand Prix at Croft last year, aboard Andy’s ultra-successful Peugeot 306. There, Marc joined Andy who took the Peugeot 208 to its first outright Supercar victory, and secured three podiums finishes including a race win, and third place in the final round of the British series.

The 28 year-old followed that up with first, second and third in his three heats in the British Grand Prix on the Sunday, finishing a very creditable fifth in the final, in which Andy took the runner-up spot. Although a World RX debutant, Marc has extensive knowledge of the car and series, being a regular visitor to the track to support his Lochfoot-based father, and heads into the event determined to help the Dumfries-based team achieve its objective of two Albatec 208s reaching the semi finals.

Andy Scott, Team Principal, Albatec Racing driver #26:

“Marc made an impressive Supercar debut at Croft last year, and I have no doubt that he is up to the job. Naturally it’s disappointing not to have Jacques with us, however I am confident that in Marc we have a driver with a great amount of experience in rallycross, who is focussed, dedicated and fast and who is committed to the cause of ensuring that Albatec realises its potential of achieving the double of two cars in finals in World RX.

“I had planned for him to join the team at Croft, but due to the logistics of transporting the cars to the final round of World RX Of Argentina, competing in North Yorkshire is sadly now not an option for us. Hopefully joining the team in Turkey will more than make up for that disappointment!”

Marc Scott, Albatec Racing driver #122:

“I’m incredibly excited about making my World RX debut, at the brand new Intercity Istanbul Park track alongside my dad, and can’t thank him enough for the opportunity. I’ve had two very successful seasons in RX150, and now feel the time is right to make the step up to the Supercar class.

“Although I’ve only raced the older 306 at Croft last year, I have driven the 208 before and I’m confident that I can put on a good show in front of the thousands of enthusiastic World RX fans. I don’t feel under any pressure, I know what I’m capable of and I know the car’s potential, so I’ll just go out there and do my job and get the best results I can.”
