Dumfries Teenage Tennis Star Heading To Wimbledon ‘Twice’

Dominik Czopek is a 13-year-old tennis player from Dumfries who is ranked 1st in Scotland in his age group will be heading to play at Wimbledon Twice in July and August.

He has been selected to represent the LTA at the Wimbledon Championship demonstration and tour which is the 6th of July where only 12 ch’ldren from UK have been invited, and he is the only one from Scotland.

Also he will be playing as part of the “play your way to Wimbledon “ county finals where he has now progressed to national finals which will be at Wimbledon in August.

There will be 48 players from all over the country competing in the tournament.

Dominik has been playing tennis since he was 6 years old. He is a member of Dumfries Tennis Club and travels to Stirling twice a week to train at the Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC) which supports junior players who are considered to have the highest potential for international success and selection for the National Academy and International Junior stage of the player pathway.
