Gymnasts from Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club senior gymnasts have travelled to Cumbernauld and Perth to compete in the Level 4 competitions recently.
Unfortunately, injury prevented one of the gymnasts attending the competitions and another of the gymnasts was only able to compete on some pieces of apparatus.
However, both girls performed well, with Alisha McKinnel placing 9th on beam, and Morgan Todd placing 9th on Bars, 10th on Floor and 15th All Around at the Broadwood Celebration of Life competition in Cumbernauld.
In the Scottish Gymnastics Voluntary Level 4 Competition in Perth the following week, Morgan Todd won a bronze medal for bars, a ribbon for finishing 5th on beam and placing an impressive 8th overall.
With almost 300 members, Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club has Competitive, Development and Floor and Vault competitive squads as well as gymnasts in Boys, Recreational, Fun4Baby and Pre-School classes and their recently added GymDance group.
The 2018 Competition season is now over for the 4-Piece Competitive squad, but the Floor and Vault squad will compete in Perth at the end of November and the Development squad will travel to Hamilton to take part in the Holly Jolly competition in December.
