The 2016 Guid Nychburris Team Relay Swimming Gala took place at the DG One Temporary Swimming Pool at Dumfries Ice Bowl on Thursday 2 June.
Once again the event was organised by Dumfries and Galloway Council in partnership with the Guid Nychburris Organising Committee.
A total of 21 schools and 177 individual swimmers from across the region participated in what was a fun and competitive event programme.
The 2015 Queen of the South, Beth Allen and Queen of the South Elect 2016, Eimear Smith attended along with fellow dignitaries –

Councillor Tom McAughtrie Chair of the Council’s Communities Committee said:
“I would like to congratulate all of the swimmers and coaches for their hard work and efforts. Furthermore a huge thank you to all of the volunteers and dignitaries for their help and support in making sure that this year’s Guid Nychburris Gala was a great success.”
