Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club had a strong start to their competitive season at the Gymnova Pre-Grades Competition hosted by Hamilton Gymnastics Club.
Head Coach, Steven McKinnel, was very pleased with how the Club’s gymnasts performed.
In the Regional Grade 4 competition Eilidh Ramsay won joint Silver on Vault, Bronze on Beam and finished in 8th place overall. Hope Humphreys won joint Silver on Vault and Marcie Gourlay won a Rosette for placing 5th on Vault.
In the Regional Grade 3 competition Olivia Drybrough won Rosettes for finishing 4th= on Range and Conditioning and 5th on Beam and finished 10th place overall. Kayla Barnes finished 7th on Floor.

Regional Grade 4
Eilidh Ramsay 59.35 (2nd= on Vault, 3rd on Beam, 8th All Around), Hope Humphreys 56.75 (2nd= on Vault), Marcie Gourlay 56.25 (5th on Vault).
Regional Grade 3
Olivia Drybrough 57.10 (5th on Beam, 4th= on Range and Conditioning, 10th All Around), Kayla Barnes 56.90 (7th= on Floor), Gemma Todd 54.90, Emily Wallace 48.95.
With now over 300 members, Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club has Competitive, Development and Floor and Vault competitive squads as well as gymnasts in Boys, Recreational, Fun4Baby and Pre-School classes and their recently added GymDance group.
The Club are looking forward to an exciting year in 2019 when the extension to their premises in English Street will begin.
