JUNIOR SHARKS SHOW RESPECT TO VICTIMS OF PARIS ATTACKS

Solway U16s v Belfast U16s
Junior Solway Sharks welcomed Belfast to the ice bowl at the weekend in their latest league fixture.
After a slower start to the game, while the Sharks found their stride, the first period ended 3 goals to 1 to the hosts. By the time the second period ended Solway had found their rhythm, and Belfast really had no means of reply, with the score now sitting at Solway 11 Belfast 2.
The third period saw the young Sharks play a more passing game, fast and skilful hockey, still with goals aplenty, and the final buzzer saw a resounding 17 – 4 victory. The final goal tally was Aidan Nicol 2, Charles Leuvennink 1, Kieran Hair 2, Lewis Chalmers 6, Lewis Houston 5, and Ruairi Lockerbie 1. There were also assists for Kain Briggs and Scott McCutcheon. Coach Jamie Kerr said, “The team played well against a stoic Belfast initially, and once we broke them down we dominated and were able to confidently and comfortably use nice individual and team plays to rack up a big score.”

The Sharks U16s and U20s teams, along with their Belfast counterparts, observed a minute silence to remember the victims of the Paris attacks – picture attached.
