Eleven year old Heathhall Primary school pupil Kieran Conchie was competing in round two of the LGM (Little Green Man) tour at West of Scotland Kart Club at Larkhall last weekend.
He continued to show his potential, finishing a fantastic 6th out of 22 drivers, despite being in considerable pain from an injury sustained in a high speed accident during Saturday’s test session.
Kieran said “I’m still sore but delighted with the result. In heat two, I had to swerve to avoid a spinner in front of me but I still qualified 11th on the grid. However in the final, I made it up to seventh and then the rain came on. With no pit stops in karting, I had to concentrate really hard to stay on the track as I had slick tyres on, conditions I had never before experienced in the class I’m now racing in.”
Kieran has really shown the talent he has in the last two race meetings, competing against drivers who are often older than him and race every weekend, often with more than five times his budget. Having made an early, and as of three weeks ago, unplanned move up a class his quest for more sponsorship continues. Anyone able to assist with the rest of the season should make contact via his Facebook Page, Kieran Conchie Racing.
Kieran would also like to thank his current sponsors for getting his season underway.
