On Saturday Moffat rams took to the road, after clinching the league title they thought they would try their luck in what would be their first ever 7’s competition in Oban.
With some complications with the team bus just outside Glasgow it didn’t look like the rams would make it to Oban at all, but after some players grabbing lifts from other players the rams got there in time for kick off.
The Rams would be put in a group with the hosts and Aberfeldy, Shawlands and Kintyre, moffat would go on to lose their first game against oban but claim victories over the other 3 putting them in a semi final against Mull.
The Rams went on and booked a place in the final sending Mull home on the early ferry.
The final was set the newcomers Moffat versus the hosts Oban and with Moffat getting better in every game, momentum was on the Rams side but unfortunately it took a few new faces to the opposition line up to leave Moffat as runners up.
