Queen of the South Ladies made the trip up the A76 to Auchinleck to take on Nithsdale Wanderers Ladies on Sunday, the fixture having been relocated due to Wanderers’ own pitch being waterlogged.
Queens took the lead after only 2 minutes through Eve Jackson. Jordyn Gallagher added a second on 17 minutes, and with Queens playing some excellent passing football, there were further goals from Holly Ovens, Sara Thomson, and OG, and Lois Geddes, giving Queens a 6-0 half time lead.
The second half was again mostly played in the opposition’s half with Queens creating many chances and hitting the woodwork several times. Further goals from Holly Ovens, Freya Brown and Kirsty Macdonald gave a full time score of Nithsdale Wanderers 0 Queens 9.
Queens have now won all five of their League Cup group games, with just one fixture left this Sunday against Dalbeattie Star at NWCC.
