With a lot of effort this week by some of the Stewartry players pitch one was declared fit by both teams and the referee for only the third time this season. An cold easterly cross wind made it hard going for both teams. Stewartry started well with a third minute penalty converted by Mosey but same as last week short lived as Cambuslang ran in a fifth minute opening try charging through from their own half. The conversion was missed.

Twelve minutes and Stewartry number eight Hogg charged over between the posts for his first try Mosey adding the conversion. 10-5 Stewartry.
Hogg and Mosey were running the show and put David Kerr in in the corner for a second try. 15-5.
Eighteen minutes and Cambuslang repeated their first try coming from their own half to score second try 15-10 conversion again missed.
Twenty seven minutes and Cambuslang completed a hat trick of tries starting from their own half but a third choice kicker missed the third conversion.15-15.
Two minutes from halftime good play between McCarney and Kerr down the right wing saw McCarney take the return pass and score for a second week. Mosey converted the long kick. 22-15 Half time.
Cambuslang started with a bang putting Stewartry under a bit of pressure and in the fiftieth minute scored a fourth bonus point try but again missed the conversion .22-20 Stewartry. After this score Stewartry started to play a bit more in the Cambuslangs half and were rewarded with Hogg going over for his second try and Stewartrys bonus point fourth try. 29-20. Stewartry kept the pressure on and Hogg completed his hat trick of scores for a second time this season. Mosey again added the points 36-20.
Four minutes from the final whistle Maxwell and McCarney combined to put Porteous in for the sixth and final score. Mosey converted his sixth kick from seven for a final score 43-20 to the Blacks avenging an earlier 22-24 defeat in Glasgow.
Stewartry are again at Greenlaw this week at home to Helensburgh their first visit since 1976 in a rearranged league game Helensburgh unable to raise a team back in December.
