Queen of the South FC has reached agreement with the Council for home game match tickets to be sold at the Dumfries and Galloway Council run Midsteeple Box Office.
The tickets will be available for all Queens’ home matches, starting with the Betfred Cup fixture against Airdrieonians on Tuesday 19 July (7.45pm). Queens’ first home game in the highly competitive Scottish Championship is a tasty looking derby against newly promoted and resurgent Ayr United.
Clubs such as Hibernian, Dundee United, St Mirren and Dunfermline will be among those making the trip to Palmerston in the forthcoming season, so there are some great fixtures for fans to look forward to.
Tickets can only be sold to home supporters, during the Midsteeple Box Office opening hours.
The Midsteeple Box Office is perfectly positioned in Dumfries town centre and sells tickets for many different local venues, festivals and events. The initiative with Queens should encourage more local people to get behind their team and promote Queens to visitors to Dumfries as well.
Councillor Colin Smyth, who chairs the Council’s Economy Environment and Infrastructure Committee said;
“I am delighted that the Council is working in partnership with Queen of the South FC. By making ticket sales easier for people working in and visiting the town centre we hope to encourage more people to attend Queens’ home matches and support the team. Palmerston is one of the great grounds of Scottish football, and Queens are a huge part of the Dumfries community, so I hope that old and new fans alike get into the habit of purchasing their tickets at the Midsteeple.”
This Saturday the Queen of the South first team squad will be available at the Midsteeple and Planestaines from 10.30am until 11.30am to sign autographs and meet fans. There will also be a competition for one lucky fan to win a season ticket for the football season coming up.
