Queens Ladies took on Annan Ladies on Friday evening under the floodlights at Galabank. Queens dominated the game from start to finish, and took the lead in the first minute through Kirsty Macdonald. By half time Queens were 5-1 ahead, with goals from Holly Ovens, Siobhan Hodgson, a second goal for Kirsty Macdonald, and Megan Masterton. In the second half, Queens’ superior fitness came to the fore and as they took to heart the coaches’ instructions to take more of their numerous chances, they added a further 8 goals from Charlotte Smith, Holly Ovens, Megan Masterton (5, completing a double hat trick) and Kirsty Macdonald (completing her hat trick). Final score 13-1 to Queens, maintaining their lead at the top of the league table.

Queens U15s welcomed Cumnock U15s to NWCC for a pre-season friendly at the weekend. The girls took the lead after only 4 minutes and with their direct play creating chances, they built up a healthy lead, 6 different players getting on the score sheet. With a tough and competitive league due to start this weekend, this was a good team performance in preparation. (Main Photo)
Queens U13s played a friendly with Glasgow City U13s at the weekend. Queens matched City well, with some delightful passing moves. City ended up 6-3 winners, but the Queens girls performance was very encouraging.
Queen of the South Ladies and Girls FC are looking to recruit players for the youngest branch of the club. U7s (born 2014/2015) training sessions will be starting again Wednesday nights from 6.15-7.15pm.
