After boss Allan Johnston was named Glen’s Championship Manager of the Month, striker Connor Shields made it a double celebration as he picked up the SPFL Championship Player of the Month for January.
Chuffed with the award Connor said “It’s great news for both me and the club. There are some really good players in the Championship so to be named as player of the month is an honour. We have been on a really good run and are unbeaten in January and that is down to the effort that we have all been putting in. I have been happy with the way I’ve been playing but it is a real team effort and I wouldn’t have won the award without the rest of the boys so they deserve some credit too”.
AJ added “I am delighted for Connor. He really deserves to win the player of the month; he has been flying recently and his performances week in, week out have been outstanding. He has been a real handful and caused all sorts of problems and has been scoring goals too which has been a major factor in us doing so well. It’s a shame he picked up the injury but hopefully he will be back soon”
