Two young ex- Stewartry RFC players will both start Scotland U20’s when they play against France on tomorrow evening at 8.00pm ( Friday the 10th of February) at Stade des Alpes in Grenoble.
At position number 4 Alex Craig from Corsock and number 15 Stafford McDowall from Dundrennan are both farmers sons and will be in the starting XV for the match. With Robbie Smith who played for Newton stewart in his youth on the bench again this week.
Scotland U20 Head Coach, Sean Lineen, said: “We have named a settled side for this week’s match, with players meriting re-selection following their respective performances against Ireland.
“We’ve taken a lot of positives from last week’s game and built on them in our preparations for what is another huge match against France.
“It’s always a tough task going away to France, and this game will be no different. They’ll be hurting from their defeat to England, and will be hoping to bounce back in front of their home crowd.
“We’re expecting a tough battle up-front, and we know first and foremost that we’ll have to match them physically if we are to come away with a result.”
