Scotland Women’s Cricket Team known better at the Wildcats were in action in Dumfries over the Bank Holiday weekend as they beat both Northumberland and Cumbria in the County Championship.
Scotland Wildcats are preparing for qualification to the Women’s World Cup and were based in Dumfries for the two crucial matches. Scotland ran out easy winners on Sunday when they dismissed Northumberland for just 66. The Wildcats took just 10 overs to knock of the total. The national team batted first against Cumbria on the Monday and they racked up 260 runs, thanks to 52 from Katie McGill. Cumbria fought hard in their response but were bowled out for 90.
Dumfries Cricket Club juniors were in attendance for tips on the game and also to get some signatures of the players aiming for future cricket world cup glory.
