Gymnasts from Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club’s 4-Piece Competitive squad attended the Scottish Gymnastics Voluntary Levels Competition at the weekend.
Head Coach, Steven McKinnel, said “It’s been almost a year since I took on the role of Head Coach at the Club and I am immensely proud of what we are achieving. It’s great to see Dumfries Y gymnasts gaining results and placing in the top 6, but even more rewarding to see each and every gymnast improving, giving their personal best and progressing higher up the rankings.”
In the Level 5 Age 12-13 Years competition Skye Martin was awarded with a 5th place Ribbon for her Floor routine.
In the Level 5 Age 10 Years competition Eilidh Ramsay won Silver on Floor, was awarded a 5th place Ribbon on Floor and placed 8th on Beam.
In the Level 6 Age 10 Years competition Kara Forson was awarded with a 5th Place Ribbon on Vault, Marcie Gourlay placed 9th on Bars, 8th= on Beam and finished 7th overall. Hope Humphreys placed 8th= on Vault, 10th= on Beam and finished in 8th place overall.
In the Voluntary Level 6 Age 9 Years competition Ella Walton was awarded with a 5th place Ribbon for her Floor routine.

The gymnasts will travel to Cumbernauld this weekend to compete in their Celebration of Life Levels Competition.
With now over 320 members, Dumfries Y Gymnastics Club has Competitive, Development and Floor and Vault competitive squads as well as gymnasts in Boys, Recreational, Fun4Baby and Pre-School classes and a GymDance Group.
