Sirens Reach National 1 Play Offs

It was another wet and windy Greenlaw as the Ayr ladies kicked off with the wind advantage but it was the Sirens who put the pressure on and in nine minutes Tamsin Tyeson scored the opening try 5-0.

Sirens continued to press but it was not until thirty four minutes when Plaedra Snailham added the secondtry out on the right for a half time score of 10-0 to the Sirens.
Sirens kicked off the second half and with in five minutes Claire Manson scored the third try under the posts. Lisa Ritchie adding the points 17-0 after 45 minutes.
The Sirens tails were up and the fourth and bonus point try soon followed when Sammy Durnam saw her chance to dot down. 22-0. Lisa Ritchie scored the fifth try and then she added the conversion.29-0. Try number six soon followed with ten minutes left when Jazmin Caine touched down with four Ayr players being dragged over with her. 34-0. A new kicking rule gave the Sirens a seventh try the 50-22 kick rule giving the kicking team the throw in from Ritchie’s kick. Tyeson took possession for her second try of the game.
a final score of 39-0 at full time and two weeks without the Sirens having their line crossed.

The win leaves Sirens in second place with a play off away at league leaders Garioch at Inverurie on February 27th another long trip up north.

Garioch were unbeaten in the league until losing last week and drawing this week so Sirens have a chance to win the promotion place to the Premier League on the form of the last two weeks.
