Solway Sharks Lass ‘Rebekah Scott’ Plays For Scotland Under16 Girls

1 a 1 a BEX ScotlandJunior Solway Shark Rebekah Scott recently travelled to Swindon to represent Scotland as part of the U16 Girls team in the British Womens Ice Hockey Friendship Tournament. Rebekah, who currently plays for the local Solway Sharks Juniors U14s team, and is about to move up to U16s level, was selected from all the Scottish girls who play ice hockey to become part of the team.

Playing numerous games over the course of the weekend, the newly-formed team, who had never played together before, were extremely successful, only losing two games and finishing very respectable runners-up in what was a fantastic event and a great advert for Women’s Ice Hockey.

As well as enjoying the team success, Rebekah was delighted to be named as Netminder of the Tournament. She said “It was a great weekend, I really enjoyed it. It was brilliant to be named Goalie of the Tournament, but I was proudest of the fact that we did so well on our first outing, only losing two games, both to Bracknell who are the English League and Play-Off Champions”.
