North Berwick claimed their first win of the National 4 season with a 27-25 win over a travelling Stewartry.
The game was back and forth throughout, with neither team managing to hold on to a lead for long but it was the East Lothian side that came away with with victory.
The home side were the first to get points on the board with a try but Stewartry worked
themselves up the pitch to earn a couple of penalties and take control of the game through
kicker Ross Sanderson.
As the rain and hail continued to fall, the two sides were locked in an arm wrestle as they tarded score for score. Kyle Amos got Stewartry’s first try of the day on his return to rugby, leaving very little between the two sides going into the halftime break.

Beauden Fleming got his second in just four games.
Despite some strong play in attack, it was ultimately the defence that let the Blacks down and allowed the hosts to sneak ahead and hold out for the 2-point win.
Stewartry remain above North Berwick in the league but a win would have seen them climb two places and out of the relegation zone.
David Thomson’s side are back at Greenlaw this weekend and welcome Greenock Wanderers in a must-win encounter.
