Regrettably, the SXC and the local organising team at Dalbeattie have made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming event at Dalbeattie on the 3rd of July. This is not a decision which has been taken lightly, and we have looked at a number of options to try and avoid cancelling the event.
To run the series the SXC rely heavily on the hardworking volunteer local organisers, alongside the dedicated core team of SXC volunteers. On this occasion, resource constraints, primarily lack of available volunteers on race day, have led to the cancellation of the event.
I know you’ll be very disappointed and some of you will have already booked accommodation. But, I hope you’ll still be able to visit Dalbeattie and enjoy some terrific trails – even if you’re not racing.
We remain dedicated to delivering events to the highest possible standards, but with a small committee and organising team we do have a number of challenges so we really do need the help and support of everyone in the MTB community to avoid having to cancel future races. If you can commit sometime to help out at the races or would like to be part of the committee please let us know via the sign up link on the website or drop us an email.
In July we will deliver the British National XC Championships at Cathkin, which is the pinnacle of the British race calendar, entries close on the 3rd July so get your entries in quick we want to see a big Scottish turn out on the start line! We are truly sorry that we have had to cancel Dalbeattie and apologise for any inconvenience that the cancellation of may caused. We will be in touch directly with pre-entered riders to switch entries to another round of the series or arrange refunds.
