The DGWGO Rugby Round-Up 20/4/23

As the season starts to draw to an end in this weeks DGWGO Rugby Round up, get the latest reports from Newton Stewart RFC, Moffat RFC, Annan Warriors and Dumfries Saints.

Following Glasgow Academicals’ 53-15 win over Falkirk at the weekend, Newton Stewart
missed out on the title and promotion to National 1 by a points difference of just two.

Moffat played their last game of the season, and Cammy Little’s final game as head coach,
away to Lomond & Helensburgh but were comfortably beaten 111-0 after only being able to field 13 men.

The Annan Warriors’ fantastic season also came to an end when they travelled to Grangemouth Stags for their National Plate semi-final. Despite a double from captain Nicole Barlow, it was not enough to see the Dumfries & Galloway side to Murrayfield for the final, losing 34-12 in the end.

The only game left to play until the 2023/24 season starts in a few months time is the
already-relegated Dumfries Saints’ final game of the year. They host Kirkcaldy at Park Farm on April 29th.
