Queen of the South Ladies took on Cumnock Juniors Ladies at NWCC on Wednesday night in a rearranged Biffa SWFL league game.
Queens opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Eve Jackson, but for most of the first half a hard working Cumnock side were able to frustrate Queens attacks. It wasn’t until the 42nd minute that Queens got a second goal when Eve Jackson ran through on goal and placed the ball into the corner. Kirsty Macdonald added a third for Queens 2 minutes later and the half time whistle blew with Queens leading 3-0.
The second half saw Holly Ovens grab a quick double in the 54th and 55th minutes, and Queens piled on the goals against a tiring Cumnock team with goals from Alexandra Connon (68), a Charlotte Smith double (69, 88), Anna Newbould (72), & Megan Hodgson (75, 81, 86,89). A very comfortable win in the end for Queens, who maintain their 100% league record.
FT Queens 13 Cumnock 0.
