Dumfries and Galloway Race Ace Ross Wylie scored a Dunlop Britcar Endurance Championship class victory at Silverstone today (24 Apr).
The 29-year-old from Thornhill near Dumfries, along with co-driver Lucky Khera, scored a dominant win in the two-driver, one-hour race at the Northamptonshire venue.
Wylie, the reigning C2 class champion who won the Britcar title outright in 2017 and only lost out on last year’s overall “crown” by a mere five-points despite missing four races, set the fastest qualifying time in the C2 class at the wheel of the Simon Green Motorsport Ferrari 488 Challenge car for the opening race.
Ross took over from Khera 23mins into Race 1, resuming 21st overall and second in class. But by the chequered flag, Wylie had swept his way in to the class lead and eighth overall.

“Qualifying in pole, a race win and a fastest race lap – I suppose I couldn’t do much more. Despite the success, the Ferrari was a bit of a handful and it transpires it was caused by a differential problem. Unfortunately, this issue caused us to non-start the second race of the day.”
