A75 Closure Set To Take Place For Works On Ramhill Bridge

ESSENTIAL BRIDGE EXPANSION JOINT REPLACEMENT ON THE A75 AT RAMHILL
COMMENCES TUESDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential bridge expansion joint replacements on the A75 at Ramhill between 8pm on Wednesday 18th September and 6am on Thursday 19th September. This work will take place under a total closure of the eastbound and westbound carriageways in this location.

Traffic will be diverted as follows:

  • Eastbound traffic will leave the A75 at Allanton Roundabout and join the A745. Traffic will then continue along the A745 to Oakwell Road Roundabout and Dalbeattie and turn left on to Craignair Road. Traffic will remain on the A711 until Cargenbridge Roundabout and take the first exit on to Garroch Loaning, where they will be able to re-join the A75 at Garroch Roundabout.
  • Westbound traffic will leave the A75 at the B794 junction (Haugh of Urr) and proceed south on the B794 to Dalbeattie. Traffic will then turn right on to the A711 Craignair Road and continue to the A745 until Oakwell Road Roundabout. Traffic will take the third exit on to the A745, where they will be able to re-join the A75.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway structure, and reducing the need for further future maintenance.

We thank road users for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
