Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential maintenance on the A75 between Tarff Bridge and Twynholm from Monday 4th April until Friday 22nd April 2022, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, each night.
This scheme, with a value of £795,500, will benefit around 5,000 vehicles using this route each day by improving the condition of the carriageway, resolving existing pavement defects and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out using an overnight convoy which will remain in place between 8pm and 6am each day. Daytime temporary traffic lights will be in place in limited areas between 6am and 8pm each day.
All traffic management will be removed completely on Friday 15th April, Saturday 16th April, Sunday 17th April and Monday 18th April to accommodate the Easter Weekend.
Local access to Twynholm and all local businesses, including The Cocobean Factory, will be maintained throughout the working period.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
