As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ is delivering a series of road surface improvements on the A701 at Courancehill, between St Ann’s Bridge and Parkgate.
In order to deliver this £170k resurfacing programme as quickly and safely as possible, it is necessary to deliver the works under a daytime convoy system.
Dayle Gillespie, Scotland TranServ’s project design lead said:
“We have been working with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to programme these works for minimal impact on the community, commuters and businesses using this busy route, which connects the M74 to Dumfries.
“To protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public, the 900m road surface improvement project will be carried out under a daytime convoy system. We would like to take this opportunity to thank drivers for their patience while this important programme of work, delivering tangible long-term benefits, is completed.”
The convoy traffic management system will be implemented during the following times:
- 7am to 7pm each day from Monday 10th until Monday the 17th of February
Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journey. Live trunk road updates are available by visiting trafficscotland.org or by following @trafficscotland on Twi
