Essential maintenance on the A75 from Cargenbridge Roundabout to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary is taking place between Friday 27th November and Tuesday 1st December 2020.
This scheme, with a value of £343,225, will benefit around 14,277 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in future.
This work requires a full closure of the A75 at this location from 8pm on Friday 27th November until 6am on Monday 30th November 2020.
Two additional overnight closures will take place on Monday 30th November and Tuesday 2nd December, between 8pm and 6am, each night. The road will re-open as normal on Monday 30th and 1st December during the day.
A signed diversion will be in place for westbound traffic during the overnight closures. Eastbound traffic will continue to travel on the A75 following a convoy system.
Westbound traffic will exit the A75 at the Glasgow Road Roundabout / Cuckoo Bridge and follow Glasgow Road to the A780 Galloway Street to join the A711. Traffic will then continue to Cargenbridge mini roundabout and travel to Garroch Roundabout to re-join the westbound A75.
This scheme has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and Dumfries and Galloway Council..
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
