Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential overnight maintenance on the A76 Mennock Bridge to Ryehill Farm from Monday 20th September to until 6am on Wednesday 29th September 2021. The works will take place between 7pm and 6am, each night.
This scheme, with a value of £310,000 will benefit around 2,587 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in future.
This scheme requires an overnight closure at this location while this work is taking place, with a signed diversion in operation. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation during the daytime at localised areas to allow the road to cool and to ensure the safety of road users.
Traffic heading northbound will be diverted off the A76 onto the A702 at the T-junction at Carronbridge. Vehicles will then follow the A702 north to the Abington Interchange and continue onto the B7078 to the A70 Ayr Road, where it will continue in a south-west direction to Cumnock where traffic will re-join the A76.
Southbound traffic will follow the same diversion route in the opposite direction.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
